Frequently asked questions
Can it unlock a PDF if I forgot the password?
No. A PDF that needs a password to open is encrypted with that password, and Localvert does not try to guess or crack it. You need to know the password.
Is it OK to remove PDF restrictions?
Use it on documents you own or are allowed to use — your own files, or documents whose author gave you permission. Removing a restriction doesn't give you rights to someone else's copyrighted work.
Will the unlocked PDF look different?
No. Only the encryption is removed; pages, text and images stay exactly the same.
