About Localvert
Localvert converts images, video and documents entirely inside your browser. Nothing you drop here is uploaded to a server — the conversion runs on your own machine, using your own processor.
Why in the browser?
Most online converters upload your file to their servers, convert it there, and ask you to trust that it is deleted afterwards. Localvert removes the need for that trust: the file never leaves your device in the first place, so there is nothing to delete and nothing to leak.
What it can do
Localvert converts between common image formats including HEIC, JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, BMP, SVG and ICO, turns PDF pages into images, combines images into a PDF, and converts video between MOV, MP4, WebM and GIF.
What it cannot do
Because everything runs on your own machine, very large files and long videos are limited by your device's memory and speed. Some formats, such as HWP or TIFF, have no reliable in-browser decoder and are not supported. We would rather say so plainly than upload your files to work around it.
How it is paid for
Localvert is free and funded by advertising. An optional premium licence removes ads and raises the batch limits. There is no free trial that quietly becomes a subscription, and no charge for the core conversions.
