Privacy policy
Localvert is built so that there is very little to write a privacy policy about. Your files are converted inside your own browser and are never uploaded to us. We have no server that could receive them, and no account system.
Your files
Files you drop into Localvert are read directly by your browser and processed in memory on your device. They are never transmitted to us or to anyone else. You can verify this yourself: open your browser's developer tools, switch to the Network tab, and convert a file — you will see no upload request.
What is stored on your device
We store two things in your browser's local storage: the interface language you picked, and a licence key if you activate one. Both stay on your device and are never sent to us. Clearing your browser data removes them.
Advertising
This site shows ads through Google AdSense. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google's Ads Settings, or manage cookies through your browser. Ads are not shown to users with an active premium licence.
Analytics
We do not run any analytics, tracking pixels or fingerprinting scripts. We do not build a profile of you and we have no database in which to keep one.
Licence validation
If you enter a premium licence key, that key alone is sent to Lemon Squeezy, our payment provider, to confirm it is valid. This happens only when you enter or re-check a key, and no file data is involved.
Third-party resources
For video conversion the browser downloads the open-source ffmpeg engine from the jsDelivr CDN. This transfers program code to you; it never transfers your files anywhere.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date shown below. Because we hold no contact details for you, we cannot notify you individually.
