What your photos reveal
Phones quietly store extra information inside every photo: the exact GPS coordinates where it was taken, the date and time, and the phone model. Anyone who receives the original file can read it — including the location of your home if that's where you took the picture.
Drop a photo here and Localvert shows you exactly what's inside before you share it.

Removed without losing quality
Most tools strip metadata by re-saving the whole image, which compresses it again. Localvert removes only the metadata blocks from JPG, PNG and WebP files and leaves the image data untouched, so the cleaned copy looks exactly the same.
Two exceptions: HEIC photos, and JPGs that rely on a rotation tag to display upright, are saved as a fresh high-quality JPG so they still look right.
Frequently asked questions
Are my photos uploaded to check them?
No. The metadata is read and removed inside your browser. That matters here more than anywhere: uploading a photo to remove its location would send the location to a server first.
Do social networks remove this already?
Many large social networks strip location when you post, but email, messaging apps that send "original quality", cloud links and marketplaces often keep it. Cleaning the file yourself is the only way to be sure.
Will the colors change?
No. The color profile is kept; only identifying information is removed.
